HOPE Academy
Elementary Program
Kindergarten-6th Grade
Welcome to our Elementary Program

HOPE Academy's Elementary program aims to provide a fun and exciting environment in an active-based learning classroom.

HOPE students are provided a broad base of class options ranging from elective-type courses to unit-study core classes. Classes range from history-themed units to exciting drama or art classes, and anything in between.

Students have many opportunities to experience first-hand what life is about through experiences and field trips such as AmeriTowne, International Town, or visiting historical sites around Colorado.

The Elementary Program is designed around the desires and needs of our families, and for every student to always have an exciting experience while at HOPE!
Fall Course Offering

The fall Elementary Course Offering is now available. We have many new and fun classes available next year. Please take the time to read through the Elementary Planning Guide available in pdf form above. After reading through the guide, please fill out the Course Selection Form with your top seven class choices. Please number your class choices with number one being the most desired and seven being the least desired. Not all seven classes will be scheduled, but it is important to have options in case a class doesn't fit in a student's schedule.
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
― Nelson Mandela
New Elementary Core Program

HOPE Academy now offers more options for either homeschooling your children, or assistance to complete all your child’s education utilizing core classes from HOPE, which can be determined by your family’s educational needs. We understand that each family has very different needs and desires, and HOPE Academy strives to reflect that in our flexibility.

Our Elementary schedule offering has expanded to include two primary tracks: Homeschool and Core! Our class sizes are traditionally small, allowing for more student-teacher interaction within our active-learning classes, more hands-on activities, and the ability to tailor classes to each particular group of students. This expansion will allow us to maintain low class sizes while being able to reach out to more families who may be looking for alternative schooling options.

Curriculum Lending Library
Textbooks are available for all Elementary Grades, for use at home or issued for a class at HOPE Academy. You may request up to six curricula per student for use at home outside of those assigned from the classroom. Ordering for the beginning of the school year is placed during the early summer to allow for the Curriculum Coordinator to prepare the orders. Orders have to be approved by administration prior to receiving your curricula. Please click the button below for more information.
"Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person's character lies in their own hands.”
― Anne Frank
Parent Volunteer Opportunities

As HOPE Academy is a community rich environment, parent volunteers are an important and vital part of how our school runs. Each family is required to complete 25 hours of volunteer time per school year. If you are unable to complete 25 hours of volunteer time, there are options that may be discussed with the Volunteer Coordinator. There are many opportunities to complete this volunteer time, from Lunch Monitor to Grant Writer. Please click the button below to learn more and sign up.
"Wise parents know that strong family relationships and good parenting are far more powerful and longer lasting influences than peer pressure."
― Jim Fay
Club Period

New to HOPE Academy's Elementary Program in 2018 was a Club Period during the school day for our little guys! The Secondary program has had success with an Access/Club Period, and now so has the Elementary Program. Club Time for Elementary is a period after lunch in which the students get to explore topics that they are interested in. Teachers will poll the students to get suggestions for what the topics of the clubs may be. Two or three clubs will run at the same time, giving the students plenty of choices to choose from. Examples of clubs are Geocaching, Gymnasium Games, Reading, Crafting, Outside Exploration, and many more.
"Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work.”
― C.S. Lewis
Field Trips

Since HOPE Academy values community and connection, there are many field trips that are planned throughout the year, both class-related and outside the realm of the classroom. There are field trips that are intended for the entire family to get out and have some fun. In the past, these field trips have been: tours at the Planetarium, afternoons at Anderson Farms, or even just a movie night held at HOPE Academy. For class-related field trips, we have planned trips that are Colorado History related such as Bent's Fort, History Colorado Museum, Evergreen Homestead, and others. We invite you to join us for these wonderful field trips. Information will be relayed as events are upcoming.
